Install it on the computer the TVs are plugged into. The trial starts the first time you open the app and lasts [TBD: trial length, 14 days by default]. No account and no email needed.
On a phone or tablet?
The app installs on the Mac or PC your TVs plug into. Copy the link and open it there.
Open the downloaded file and drag Stream Organizer Pro to Applications.
Open it from Applications. Its icon appears in the menu bar at the top of the screen.
If macOS says it can’t verify the app, close the message, open System Settings, then Privacy & Security, and choose Open Anyway (on older macOS: System Preferences, then Security & Privacy, General tab). Once is enough.
Before launch
The installer’s size, the oldest macOS it supports and Apple notarization (which removes step 3) are confirmed with the first release. [TBD: size, minimum macOS, notarization]
Run the installer. If Windows shows “Windows protected your PC”, choose More info, then Run anyway.
Open Stream Organizer Pro. Its icon appears in the system tray, next to the clock. If you don’t see it, click the ^ arrow by the clock; drag the icon out next to the clock to keep it there.
The couch remote works on Mac only for now. On Windows, run the wall from your phone.
Before launch
The Windows build hasn’t been tested on a real PC yet. Its size, the oldest Windows it supports and the code signing that stops the “protected your PC” warning come with that. [TBD: real-PC test, size, minimum Windows, signing]
Not sure your computer is up to nine streams on every TV? Check the system requirements first.
The first time you open it.
Three things happen, then you’re ready for the setup guides.
Your trial starts.
The app sets up a trial for this computer by itself. It needs an internet connection for that. If it asks for a license key instead,
it couldn’t get online: close the key window, then choose Quit in the “Games are stopped on this computer” message that follows. Check the
connection and open the app again; the trial starts then. If the window says this computer’s trial has already been used, that was
its one trial.
The status window shows a pairing code.
It has a 6‑digit code and a QR code for your phone. To bring it back later, click the Stream Organizer Pro icon in the menu bar and
choose Show status window. On Windows, left-click the icon in the system tray.
The computer asks about your network.
Mac: allow it to find devices on your local network. [TBD: confirm the macOS prompt]
Windows: a Windows Defender Firewall prompt asks about Stream Organizer Pro. Allow it on Private
networks. [TBD: confirm the Windows firewall prompt]
Your phone talks to the computer over your home network, so Stream Organizer Pro Companion on your phone can’t connect without this.
Click the Stream Organizer Pro icon in the menu bar, choose License…, then Change license key… and paste it in.
When a trial has ended, the app asks for a key by itself.
On Windows, right-click the icon in the system tray instead (a left-click opens the status window).
