What’s the wall doing?

Troubleshooting

Start with the first row that matches.

What you seeUsually becauseTry this
A tile is black or says “Sign in” That service signed you out, or the stream ended. On the computer, click into the tile and sign in on the service’s own page. One sign-in covers every tile.
YouTube TV tiles won’t open the channel The YouTube TV channel scan hasn’t been run here, or you’ve moved since. The scan runs in a tile that’s showing something and is signed in to YouTube TV. Open https://tv.youtube.com on a tile with Navigate to URL and sign in, then in Settings, under Your services › YouTube TV › Channel scan, choose that TV and tap Scan (or Scan again). See the guide.
Video plays but says it isn’t available here The service thinks you’re away from home, or your plan doesn’t include that channel. Try the same channel in a normal browser on the computer. If it fails there too, it’s your plan or location setting.
TVs are in the wrong order The computer’s display arrangement doesn’t match how they hang. Settings, then Monitors: use the arrows to put TV A first. See the guide.
My phone can’t reach the computer The phone is on a guest or separate network, or the app isn’t running. Join the main home WiFi and check the app is running on the computer. If the computer’s .local address won’t load, use the numeric address in the status window. See the pairing guide.
My phone can’t reach the computer (Windows) Windows Defender Firewall is blocking Stream Organizer Pro, usually because its first-run prompt was closed or blocked. Open Windows Security, then Firewall & network protection, then Allow an app through firewall, and tick Stream Organizer Pro for Private networks. [TBD: confirm the Windows firewall prompt]
The remote does nothing (Mac) The remote helper isn’t installed, or isn’t allowed to read the remote. From the menu bar icon choose Install remote helper…, then turn it on under Privacy & Security, Input Monitoring (Security & Privacy on older macOS). Plug the receiver into the Mac, not a hub. See the remote guide.
Sound is coming from the wrong game Another tile is the active sound. In Monitors, tap the tile you want, then its speaker button. A tile showing a web page rather than a service has no speaker button: arrow to the tile on the remote and press OK. See the guide.
Games stutter with lots of tiles The computer or the internet connection is at its limit. Drop a TV to 2x2, and plug the computer into the router with a cable if you can.
Scores are stuck or a game is missing The score feed is slow, or the game isn’t listed yet. Give it a minute to catch up. You can still put any channel on a tile from the Channels tab.
A message says Stream Organizer Pro was started on your other computer A license runs on one computer at a time. The message names the computer that started it, and the TVs here stopped. Choose Take back to run it here instead. The other computer stops its wall.
“Games are stopped on this computer” after time offline The app couldn’t reach the license server for more than 14 days. Connect the computer to the internet and choose Try again.
“Games are stopped on this computer” when the trial ends The free trial on this computer is over. Choose Enter license key… if you have a key. If not, write to us.

Questions people ask

Mostly about what the app is, and isn’t.

Do I get any channels with this?

No. Stream Organizer Pro is a way to watch lots of streams at once. You sign in with the subscriptions you already have. It isn’t affiliated with any of the services it works with.

Which services does it work with?

YouTube TV, ESPN (including ESPN+) and MLB.tv, plus free streams on YouTube and Twitch, such as League of Legends esports. A game that’s only on another service can’t be put on a tile.

How many games can I watch at once?

Up to nine on each TV. Each TV can use 1x1, 2x2, 3x3 or 1+5. How many run smoothly depends on your computer and your internet speed, and some services limit how many streams one account can play at the same time.

Do I need the remote?

No. Your phone does everything. The remote is for when you’d rather press a button than unlock a phone. It works on a Mac today, with the G20S Pro remote and its HAOBO USB receiver. Other G20S models and receivers aren’t supported.

Does it work with an Android phone?

On your phone, Stream Organizer Pro Companion runs in a modern browser on your home WiFi. It’s tested most on iPhone and iPad. [TBD: confirm Android]

Can I control it from outside the house?

No. Stream Organizer Pro only works on your home network, on the same WiFi as the computer.

Does the computer need to stay on?

Yes, while you’re watching: it plays every stream. Turn on Launch at login in the app’s menu so it’s ready whenever the computer is. On Windows, right-click the icon in the system tray instead (a left-click opens the status window).

Does it need the internet to check the license?

Starting the trial needs a connection. After that it checks in while it runs, and keeps working for up to 14 days without reaching the license server.

How do I update it?

Each time the app starts (at most once a day), it checks for a new version. A computer that stays on checks again when you quit and reopen the app, or restart the computer. When there is one, it asks first: Install now, Later or Remind me in 24h. Choose Install now, then Restart now when it has downloaded. [TBD: updates start with the first release]

Can I install it on two computers?

Yes, but it runs on one at a time. Starting it on a second computer asks to stop it on the first. Each computer gets its own free trial, once.

Put these in it

  1. Mac or Windows PC.
  2. The app’s version. On a Mac, select Stream Organizer Pro in Applications and choose File, then Get Info. On Windows, open Settings, then Apps, then Installed apps, and find Stream Organizer Pro.
  3. What the wall was doing. Which TV and tile, what you tapped, and what you saw. A photo of the screen helps.

Stream Organizer Pro is built on open-source software. The full notices ship with the app, under Acknowledgements… in its menu.
