Stream Organizer Pro Download free trial

Install the app

About five minutes. You end with the app running on the computer and a free trial started.

You need: The computer your TVs will plug into, and an internet connection for the first launch.

Install it on that one computer only. It plays every stream; your phone just steers, and needs nothing installed. Not sure the computer is up to it? Check the system requirements.

Download the installer

Get it from the download page. On a Mac it’s a .dmg disk image; on Windows it’s a Setup.exe installer.

Install it

Mac: open the .dmg and drag Stream Organizer Pro to Applications. Then open it from Applications. This build isn’t notarized by Apple yet, so the first time, macOS may say it can’t verify the app. Close that message, open System Settings, then Privacy & Security, scroll down and choose Open Anyway (on older macOS: System Preferences, then Security & Privacy, General tab). [TBD: notarization, which removes this step]

Windows: run the installer, then open Stream Organizer Pro from the Start menu. If Windows shows “Windows protected your PC”, choose More info, then Run anyway. [TBD: real-PC test and signing]

Look for the icon

The app lives in the menu bar at the top of a Mac’s screen, or in the system tray next to the clock on Windows. Click it any time for the menu shown here. Show status window brings back the pairing code, and Quit Stream Organizer Pro stops the wall. The greyed line at the top says where your license stands, such as how many days of the free trial are left.

On Windows, right-click the icon in the system tray instead (a left-click opens the status window).

On Windows, a new tray icon often starts out hidden. If you don’t see it, click the ^ arrow by the clock, and drag the icon out next to the clock to keep it there. [TBD: confirm on a real PC]

Turn on Launch at login if this computer is always the one in the den.

Let the trial start

The first time it opens, the app sets up a free trial for this computer by itself, with no account and no email. It needs an internet connection for that: if it can’t get online, or this computer has had its trial before, it asks for a license key instead (see If it doesn’t work). After that it checks in now and then, and keeps working for up to 14 days without the internet.

Keep the status window handy

The status window opens by itself: a dark window headed Pairing code. You’ll use it to pair your phone.

If it doesn’t work

The first launch asks for a license key.
If the window says Enter your Stream Organizer Pro license key and this computer never had a trial, the app couldn't reach the internet to start one. Close it, then choose Quit in the “Games are stopped on this computer” message that follows. Check the connection and open the app again; the trial starts then. If it says the free trial on this computer has already been used, that's the one trial each computer gets.
macOS says it can't verify Stream Organizer Pro.
Open System Settings, then Privacy & Security, scroll down and choose Open Anyway next to Stream Organizer Pro. On older macOS it's System Preferences, then Security & Privacy, General tab. You only do this once.
I closed the status window.
Click the Stream Organizer Pro icon in the menu bar and choose Show status window. On Windows, left-click the icon in the system tray.
Windows says “Windows protected your PC”.
Choose More info, then Run anyway. Windows shows this for an installer it doesn't recognize yet.
